Tucked away in the southwestern corner of Australia, Margaret River is one of those places where nature and indulgence coexist effortlessly. It's not just a wine lover's paradise—though the vineyards here are as good as any in the world—but a haven for anyone who appreciates the raw beauty of the outdoors. Whether you're a surfer chasing the perfect wave, a hiker drawn to rugged coastlines, or a foodie looking for the freshest farm-to-table experience, Margaret River has a way of making the everyday feel a little more extraordinary.

The first day we had lunch at a gorgeous winery called Leeuwin Estate. The food was amazing, the wine went down very well and it had a great vibe. Perfect long birthday lunch!

We stayed at Pullman Bunker Bay, which is located in Naturaliste, on the northern tip of the Margaret River region in Western Australia. The resort is surrounded by native bushland and offers direct access to Bunker Bay Beach, an incredibly beautiful and quiet beach with pristine white sand. One thing to note if you're staying in this region is that you will need a hire car to get around.

The resort has a great pool where we spent time relaxing and splashing around.

The path down to the beach.

Two more must visit restaurants in the region are Bunkers Beach house, a casual lunch spot right on the beach. The food and drinks were lovely, service was great and the view is unbeatable.

The second one is Vasse Felix. Having lunch at the restaurant at Vasse Felix is an experience that highlights the best of the Margaret River region. Located in Cowaramup, about a 20-minute drive from Margaret River town, Vasse Felix is the oldest winery in the area and has built a reputation for both its wines and its food. The restaurant overlooks the vineyards, offering a serene backdrop for a meal that focuses on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients.

Margaret River has a lot to offer, from its wineries to its stunning coastline. Whether it’s a meal at Vasse Felix or a quiet moment by the beach at Pullman Bunker Bay—easily the most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen—the experiences here are memorable for their simplicity and connection to the region. It’s the kind of place that leaves an impression, making you think about when you might come back and explore more.
