Located along the sun-drenched shores of Spain’s Costa del Sol, Ikos Andalusia is where luxury meets laid-back Mediterranean charm. As a mother of two, I’m always on the lookout for places that offer the perfect blend of relaxation for the grown-ups and fun for the kids, and Ikos Andalusia delivers in every way imaginable.
Whether you're lounging by the pool, indulging in gourmet dining, or exploring the nearby Andalusian villages, this place offers something magical for everyone. And let’s not forget the kids' clubs and activities that kept my little ones entertained. If you're dreaming of a family vacation that combines five-star luxury with the heart and soul of Spain, then keep reading—I’m about to take you on a tour of Ikos Andalusia.
We were lucky enough to stay in a stunning suite that came with its own private garden, which was ideal for our family of four. The moment we arrived, we were welcomed with a bottle of perfectly chilled Champagne—a thoughtful touch that set the tone for the rest of our stay.
Our one-bedroom suite at Ikos Andalusia offered a blend of modern comfort and Mediterranean style. The spacious interior opened up to a private garden, giving us a peaceful spot to relax outdoors. Whether we were enjoying a quiet morning coffee or winding down with a drink in the evening, the garden added an extra layer of calm to our stay. The bedroom itself was comfortable and welcoming, with a cozy bed that made it easy to rest after a full day, and the bathroom was massive, with a bath tub and separate shower.
Several mornings, we chose to have breakfast in the garden instead of heading to the restaurants. One of the perks of staying at Ikos is their Unconditional Luxury concept, which includes unlimited room service. It was a treat to enjoy a leisurely meal in the privacy of our own space, with everything delivered right to our door.
The resort has several bars, but the Main Bar (pictured below) is my favourite. The cocktails here are exceptional, and the views are hard to beat. It’s the perfect spot to unwind with a drink and soak in the surroundings.
The resort offers a variety of pools to suit everyone’s needs. There’s a splash pool designed for the little ones, and an adults-only pool for those seeking a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere.
There is also a Deluxe only pool with a cocktail bar.
We spent most days splashing around in the various pools, with our eldest daughter normally spending either the morning or the afternoon in the Kids Club.
Whilst Ikos is a beach side resort, the one thing that is not 5 star about this resort is the beach. It's not great for lounging on or swimming, however we saw lots of wind surfers.
Something that definitely is 5 star worthy though is the food. Ikos is "all inclusive" but not as you know it - instead of the usual luke warm buffets, this resort elevates dining to a whole new level with its à la carte menus, featuring dishes crafted by Michelin-starred chefs.
The first night we had dinner at Seasons, which was my favourite.
The views were gorgeous and the food was incredible.
We then went on to try a different restaurant every night - we didn't have one bad meal.
With its blend of luxurious amenities, exceptional service, and a genuinely thoughtful approach to all-inclusive hospitality, we left feeling pampered, refreshed, and utterly satisfied. The kids were full of stories about their adventures, and we parents enjoyed the rare treat of truly unwinding in a stunning setting. If you’re looking for a destination that caters to every family member’s needs while delivering a touch of Mediterranean magic, Ikos Andalusia should be at the top of your list. Until next time, Costa del Sol—our hearts are already counting down to our return.
