Nestled along the sun-kissed shores of the Italian Riviera, Alassio is a picturesque coastal town that seems to have been crafted straight from a dream. With its charming blend of golden sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and a rich tapestry of local culture, Alassio offers a quintessential slice of Italian seaside bliss.
We arrived via train from France, and stayed at the Grand Hotel, right on the beautiful, sandy beach.
The town is made up of a long beach promenade, which was very walkable, even with a pram, and a cute town centre, complete with cobbled stones laneways. There were some great local shops and even a Vilebrequin outlet.
We had dinner at one of the little restaurants on the promenade and I had one of the best pizzas I've ever had. It had a charcoal base and was topped with smoked salmon.
Alassio is an ideal destination for families seeking a mix of relaxation and adventure. With its safe, sandy beaches and clear, shallow waters, it's perfect for kids to play and explore. The town’s family-friendly amenities, from casual dining options to engaging activities, ensure that everyone—from the youngest to the oldest—can have an enjoyable and memorable experience.
Whether you're building sandcastles on the beach, enjoying a leisurely stroll along the promenade, or savoring a gelato on a warm evening, Alassio provides a welcoming environment for all ages. It’s a place where family bonds are strengthened, new memories are made, and the Italian coastal charm is felt at every turn.
If you're planning a family vacation, Alassio should definitely be on your radar. Its combination of natural beauty and thoughtful amenities makes it a standout choice for a relaxed and fun-filled getaway.
